Origin and history

How ShipManager got here.

ShipManager comes from DNV, the Norwegian classification society. After DNV merged with Germanischer Lloyd in 2013 the software was sold as DNV GL ShipManager, and since the company renamed itself DNV in March 2021 it has been DNV ShipManager.

The suite is modular. Owners can run the Technical planned maintenance system alone or with procurement, QHSE, crewing, hull, project and analytics modules, which share one ship-shore interface. Published users include Maersk Line, Ahrenkiel Steamship and Reederei F. Laeisz.

FAQ

Questions about ShipManager work.

Are you a reseller or partner of ShipManager?

No. Norsetech Group is an independent service provider. We do not sell ShipManager; we build, audit and migrate the data that goes into it, in the format ShipManager imports.

Do you need a login to our ShipManager system?

No. We work from exports and from the ShipManager import template, so your live system is not touched.

What do you need from us to start?

The maker instruction manuals and parts lists for the vessel's equipment, the equipment list, and your ShipManager import template or an export of your current data. Where manuals are missing we tell you which equipment is affected rather than filling the gap with generic jobs.

Can you move our data from another PMS into ShipManager, or out of it?

Yes. We extract and clean the data from the current system, map it to the new platform's structure and deliver it in the new platform's import format, with the history carried across.
