Overview
smartPAL is a cloud ship management platform from MariApps Marine Solutions, the maritime software company of the Schulte Group. It began as the in-house system of Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement and now covers more than 30 modules, including planned maintenance.
Origin and history
smartPAL grew out of the ship management software that Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement built for its own fleet. BSM describes its formation from four ship management companies as the birth of smartPAL, and the IT division that developed it became MariApps Marine Solutions, a separate company in the Schulte Group, in 2014.
Earlier generations were known as the PAL system and PAL e3, a marine ERP with crewing, payroll, PMS, purchase, accounts and dry-dock modules. Separate applications were later joined into one web platform with single sign-on, and BSM's customer portal became LiveFleet in 2017.
MariApps now serves customers outside the Schulte Group as well. Publicly reported users include Maersk and Intership Navigation.

No. Norsetech Group is an independent service provider. We do not sell smartPAL; we build, audit and migrate the data that goes into it, in the format smartPAL imports.
No. We work from exports and from the smartPAL import template, so your live system is not touched.
The maker instruction manuals and parts lists for the vessel's equipment, the equipment list, and your smartPAL import template or an export of your current data. Where manuals are missing we tell you which equipment is affected rather than filling the gap with generic jobs.
Yes. We extract and clean the data from the current system, map it to the new platform's structure and deliver it in the new platform's import format, with the history carried across.
