Origin and history

How ShipNet got here.

  1. 1991

Shipnet was established in 1991 in Oslo and started in financial management for the shipping industry before broadening into a full maritime ERP. In 2007 it was acquired by Inchcape Shipping Services, when its products included ShipNet Fleet.

  2. 2017

After changing hands several times, Shipnet was acquired in March 2017 by Volaris Group, part of Constellation Software, as its second marine business after SpecTec. At that time more than 300 shipping-related companies used its software.

  3. 2019

The platform is now marketed as Shipnet ONE, which had integrated SeaProc e-procurement by 2019 and added a SaaS dry-docking solution in 2020.

Content taken from the makers' manuals, with the source cited in each job.

One equipment hierarchy and job standard across your fleet, whatever the software.

  3. 03

FAQ

Questions about ShipNet work.

Are you a reseller or partner of ShipNet?

No. Norsetech Group is an independent service provider. We do not sell ShipNet; we build, audit and migrate the data that goes into it, in the format ShipNet imports.

Do you need a login to our ShipNet system?

No. We work from exports and from the ShipNet import template, so your live system is not touched.

What do you need from us to start?

The maker instruction manuals and parts lists for the vessel's equipment, the equipment list, and your ShipNet import template or an export of your current data. Where manuals are missing we tell you which equipment is affected rather than filling the gap with generic jobs.

Can you move our data from another PMS into ShipNet, or out of it?

Yes. We extract and clean the data from the current system, map it to the new platform's structure and deliver it in the new platform's import format, with the history carried across.

Working in ShipNet?

Send us the equipment list and your ShipNet import template. We reply with a scope for the work.
